Mr. Samale has held discussions with diaspora community members that hail from his hometown
Hargeisa (The Independent) Former Minister of Finance, Abdiasis Mohamed Samale has launched his campaign in which he is aimed at winning the party’s next presidential candidate. The Central Committee of the party will get together in Sept. whereby they will choose a successor to President Ahmed Silanyo who is retiring from political life.
Mr. Samale has held discussions with diaspora community members that hail from his hometown, Allaybadey.
They were scholars and politicians and other members of those who have returned to country from overseas.
Mr. Samale, ex-finance minister has briefed them on the progress that he has so far achieved when it comes to his bid to win the party’s nomination for the presidential candidate. Former Minister of Finance speaking at the event held at Mansoor Hotel has expressed that his hopes are high in winning the party’s next presidential candidate which is expected to kick off in months time. He reiterated that his die hard and staunch supporters have launched his campaign at home and abroad and that large numbers are throwing their support behind him. Those who spoke at the event has made their backing clear and added that in the years to come that his tenure as the country’s finance minister will not be forgotten. He is expected to face his main rivals, Musa Bihi, Mohamed Bihi Yonis and others who are yet to announce their presidential bid.
