SOMALILAND: Hamse Khaire Touted As Favourite To Replace Resigned Industries Minister

Hargeisa, (SM) -Abib Diriye Nour’s decision to quit as the Minister of Industries in Somaliland triggers a hot race inside the ruling party and Gabiley region in general.

A well-placed source inside the presidential palace claims that the Young, able and ambitious, Hamse Abdirahman Khaire is the leading favorite to replace Abib Diriye Nour as the Minister of Industries.

As one of Somaliland’s most prominent and well-educated youths, Hamse Khaire is being touted as the leading contender to replace the outgoing Minister.

Hamse Khaire’s social media campaigners argue that the appointment of a young politician like Hamse Khaire will fulfill president Silanyo’s presidential election campaign promises to ensure youth participation in the country’s political decision-making.

As one of Somaliland’s most prominent and well-educated youths, Hamse Khaire is being touted as the leading contender to replace the outgoing Minister. The rising young politician enjoys the support of Somaliland youth as well as the support of the traditional leaders of Gabiley region.

The young man who stands as a favorite to succeed Abiib Timacad as Minister of Industries has been touted as future leadership material since his graduation from university.

This is both due to his popularity among Somaliland youth, as well as the affability and acumen he has displayed in jobs.

Hamse A. Khaire was educated in Somaliland and holds a BBA in Business administration from University of Hargeisa (UoH) and an MBA in Project Management from OuM in Malaysia. He has worked for government, business and NGOs’ in different capacities in Somaliland for over eight years. Currently Hamse serves as a senior consultant in Somaliland’s Ministry of Youth and Sports.
